About Creek Rd Kids Bridge

Creek Rd Kids Bridge was founded by Katie in memory of her brother Steven, who passed away from cystic fibrosis. The initiative brings families together for youth entrepreneurship, activities, community involvement, and cystic fibrosis awareness at the historic Creek Rd Covered Bridge in Conneaut.

Now in its seventh season in 2026, this annual Covered Bridge Festival tradition encourages young people to create, volunteer, give back, and make a difference — turning a community landmark into a place where kids help kids.

Creek Rd Kids Bridge is made possible through Bridge Hosting for the Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival. During the 2026 festival weekend, about 75 community members gathered at the bridge on Saturday, October 10, 2026, for a memorial dedication honoring longtime Conneaut advocate Bob Marcy — a tribute from his family and friends that shared the weekend with the Kids Bridge.

The Kids Bridge is also the founding legacy of the Steppin' Out Jr. Young Entrepreneurs Club — the club grew out of the kid-powered, entrepreneurial spirit of the bridge.

Kids Bridge Weekend 2026: Festival Fun and a Community Tribute

The 2026 Kids Bridge Weekend filled the Creek Road Covered Bridge with families, food, and kid-powered fun. During the same weekend, about 75 community members gathered at the bridge on Saturday, October 10, 2026, for a memorial dedication honoring Bob Marcy — a tribute from his family and friends that the Kids Bridge community was honored to witness.

Katie's CF Boutique returned with the Custom Slime Bar — black, purple, build it your way — alongside handmade bracelets, charms, and more, with sales supporting cystic fibrosis awareness in Steven's memory.

Between vendors, families enjoyed a community cookout, snacks, and a toy giveaway for the littlest bridge visitors.

The white wire souvenir sale rack offered Covered Bridge Festival keepsakes provided by the Bridge Committee — calendars, cookbooks, ornaments, walking sticks, and more. Every sale supports the Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival.
